Faculty Accomplishments

Cherie Crosby, PhD, Dean of the Division of Education, co-presented at the Early Childhood Education Summit and the Teaching Professor Conference on Dialoguing Diversity, Privilege, and Oppression: A Pen Pal Project.

Jeff Power, PhD, faculty member in the Allied Health Science & Mathematics division, co-authored a paper, Acute and Chronic Increases of Circulating FSTL1 Normalize Energy SUbstrate Metabolism in Pacing-Induced Heart Failure published in the journal Circulation: Heart Failure. Dr. Powers had another article appear in Methods in Molecular Biology.

Jonathan Peri, EdD, JD earned his doctorate of education in organizational leadership from Eastern University. His dissertation was titled “Non-Traditional Pathways to the Presidency in U.S. Higher Education: A Collective Case Study.” He was also named chairman of Pennsylvania’s Council of Higher Education by Governor Tom Wolf.

Julie Senecoff, MS, PhD, Professor of Chemistry, Chemistry & Physics Coordinator, has been named to the Research Council for the Flinn Scientific Company and named to a publications review panel for Pearson Higher Education.

Matthew Smarlarz, PhD, Professor of History, presented The Impact of Metropolitan School Desegregation on the Neighborhood School Concept in Northeast Philadelphia, 1964-74 at the 2017 Pennsylvania Historical Association Conference. Dr. Smalarz also had an essay entitled “Liberty County” in the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia.

Madeleine Seltzer, PhD, Professor of English, and Michael Landis, MDiv, Senior Associate Professor of Religion, presented a poster entitled Zusatzen Illumination Quotients Neuro-Noetic Scapes: Learning Curriculum Design and Implementation as an Heuristic for Realizing a Neuro-Noetic Mapping, Imaging, Imagining, and Information System at the Science of Consciousness conference in Tucson.

Marc Minnick, DBA, Senior Dean, Division of Business and Technology / Director of Academic Affairs Assessment, was named Manor College Educator of the Year.

Student awards/student group accomplishments

Marta Penkalskyj ‘18 was awarded the Mother Josaphat Medal.

Students Iliana Hashmi ‘18 & Rumesa Hashmi ‘18, were named finalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, a national search.

14 student athletes were named to the EPAC all-academic team (GPA of 3.25 or higher)
